Key Considerations for Processing High-Viscosity Materials in Paddle Dryers

1. Equipment Configuration
Prioritize models featuring serrated self-cleaning paddles and mirror-polished inner walls. Maintain a clearance of 3–8 mm between the paddles and the vessel wall to enhance the self-scraping effect and prevent material from sticking to and accumulating on the wall.
2. Process Parameter Control
Set the main shaft speed within the 5–20 rpm range, increasing the speed as necessary based on material viscosity. Implement staged preheating to ensure the vessel wall temperature remains above the material's dew point, preventing adhesion caused by contact with a cold surface.
3. Operational Standards
Regulate the feed rate steadily to avoid sudden, massive inflows that could lead to accumulation before drying can occur. Regularly monitor the temperature difference of the heating medium; if the difference exceeds 15°C, promptly inspect and remove any fouling to maintain heat transfer efficiency.
4. Routine Maintenance and Management
Clean adhered material from the paddles and inner walls weekly, calibrate rotation speed and pressure parameters monthly, and conduct comprehensive component wear inspections quarterly; these measures can reduce the equipment failure rate by more than 60%.
