I. Observe the underflow morphology
Normal state: The underflow is uniformly discharged in an "umbrella" shape, with particles of moderate size.
Wear signs: If the underflow becomes "columnar" or "jet-like," or even carries a large number of fine particles, it indicates increased wear at the underflow orifice.
II. Check operating parameters
Underflow concentration: A sudden drop in concentration may be due to impaired particle discharge caused by underflow orifice wear.
Overflow coarse particles: The presence of coarse particles in the overflow indicates decreased separation efficiency.
Abnormal throughput: Sudden changes in throughput may be due to underflow orifice wear affecting fluid dynamics.
III. Inspect component condition
Orifice diameter measurement: Measure the underflow orifice diameter with calipers. If it exceeds the original specification by more than 10%, it needs to be replaced immediately.
Inner wall inspection: If there are obvious pits, cracks, or wear marks on the inner wall, it also needs to be replaced.
IV. Regular maintenance records
Monthly inspection: Record the underflow morphology, operating parameters, and component condition, and establish a wear trend chart. Replacement cycle: Based on the wear rate, develop a replacement plan for vulnerable parts such as the underflow port and overflow pipe.
