I. Material Upgrade: Wear-Resistant Materials are Key
Underflow Inlet: Replacing ordinary metal with silicon carbide or polyurethane can extend the service life by 8-10 times. For example, after wear at the underflow inlet of an iron ore mine, the underflow concentration dropped from 45% to 28%. Replacing the underflow material restored stability.
Inner Liner: Hydrocyclones with a diameter >75mm are recommended to have a wear-resistant rubber liner. Segmented manufacturing facilitates replacement. Shandong Weihai Haiwang Hydrocyclones' polyurethane hydrocyclones have a service life of up to 2100 hours and excellent wear resistance.
II. Process Optimization: Reducing Wear Sources
Pretreatment: Coarse-grained materials should be screened first or classified at low pressure using a large hydrocyclone, followed by high-pressure desliming using a small hydrocyclone to reduce wear.
Combined Equipment: Use in conjunction with spiral classifiers, fine screens, etc., to improve classification efficiency and reduce the load on the hydrocyclone.
III. Maintenance Strategy: Regular Inspection and Replacement
Monthly Inspection: Record underflow morphology and operating parameters (e.g., concentration, throughput), and establish a wear trend chart.
Replacement of Wear Parts: Replace underflow outlets, overflow pipes, etc., promptly when severely worn to avoid disrupting the flow field.
IV. Parameter Adjustment: Matching Production Needs
Feed Pressure: Controlled between 0.3-0.8 MPa; excessively high pressure accelerates wear.
Slurry Concentration: ≥4 (Be) results in higher separation efficiency and reduces equipment load.
