How to determine if a tube bundle dryer is experiencing common malfunctions?

1. High Moisture Content in Dried Material

Check feed moisture: If the feed moisture content is higher than specified, adjust the extruder's dehydration effect.

Condensate drainage: Check if the steam trap is clear and if the working pressure is sufficient to prevent condensate backflow.

Sealing: Check for steam leakage at the seal between the internal tube bundle and the end caps.

2. Abnormal Equipment Operation

Abnormal Start-up: Check if the power supply, motor, and control circuit are functioning correctly.

Excessive Noise: This may be due to a loose fan or worn bearings; tighten or replace the parts.

Improper Material Inflow/Outflow: Clean debris from the feed inlet to ensure smooth material flow.

3. Temperature and Energy Consumption Issues

Abnormal Temperature: Check if the thermometer, heating element, and fan are functioning correctly.

High Energy Consumption: This may be due to damaged insulation or aging components; repair or replacement is required.

4. Shaft Diameter Wear

Visual Inspection: Check the shaft diameter for obvious wear or scratches; replace the part if necessary.

5. Sealing and Leakage

Leakage Inspection: Inspect the entire equipment line, checking for leaks at flange connections, valves, shaft seals, etc.

Pressure Testing: Use a pressure gauge to check the inlet and outlet pressures of the dryer; abnormal pressure differences may indicate a malfunction.

Daily Maintenance Recommendations

Regular Inspection: Monitor operating parameters (temperature, pressure, current), and check appearance and sealing.

Standardized Operation: Avoid overloading, clean the equipment promptly, and extend its service life.
