I. Clog Diagnosis and Treatment
1. Confirm Clog: Observe abnormal fluctuations in the pressure gauge, reduced or interrupted underflow, and cloudy overflow.
2. Treatment:
Minor Clog: Try adjusting feed parameters (e.g., reducing concentration or flow rate) or backflushing.
Severe Clog: Immediately stop the machine, disassemble the clogged hydrocyclone tube for cleaning or replacement.
II. Clog Handling Steps
1. Safe Shutdown: Stop the feed, close relevant valves, and stop the pump in sequence.
2. Disassembly and Cleaning:
Hydrocyclone Tube Disassembly: Carefully remove the clogged hydrocyclone tube assembly.
Clog Removal: Use a tool (e.g., a nylon brush) to unclog, avoiding damage to the inner wall with sharp objects. Stubborn clogs can be soaked in a dilute acid solution and then flushed.
Nozzle Inspection: Inspect and clean the underflow nozzle and overflow port; replace if severely worn.
3. Reassembly and Reset: Assemble in the correct order, check for leaks, and ensure there are no leaks. 4. Trial Operation and Debugging: Start under low load, gradually restore to normal parameters, and observe the operating status.
III. Prevention of Re-clogging
1. Material Pretreatment: Install a filter screen (e.g., 10-20 mesh) before feeding to remove large particles of impurities.
2. Stable Operation: Control the feed pressure, concentration, and flow rate to ensure stability and avoid fluctuations.
3. Water Quality Management: Use softened water (hardness ≤ 8°dH) to prevent scaling.
4. Standardized Operation: Follow the correct start-up and shutdown sequence to avoid drastic parameter changes.
IV. Maintenance Recommendations
1. Regular Inspection: Frequently check the hydrocyclone tube for blockage or wear. If blockage is found, clean or replace it promptly.
2. Replacement for Wear: Replace the hydrocyclone tube when the inner wall, underflow port, or overflow port wears more than 0.2mm beyond its original diameter.
3. Winter Maintenance: After shutdown, drain the water from the equipment to prevent freezing and cracking.
