How Often Should a Starch Hydrocyclone Be Cleaned?

1. Routine Cleaning Cycle
Lightly polluted conditions (e.g., low raw material impurities, stable operation):
Fully clean every three months.
Check the feed filter daily and clean it weekly.
Moderately polluted conditions (e.g., raw materials high in fiber or protein):
Clean monthly, focusing on the grit nozzle and the inner wall of the cyclone tube.
Severely polluted conditions (e.g., high-concentration slurry or continuous production):
Clean weekly or biweekly, dismantling the grit nozzle and overflow pipe for thorough cleaning.
2. Adjustments for Special Situations
Seasonal production: Thoroughly drain and clean the machine before shutting down to prevent solidification of residues.
Abnormal Alarm: If the pressure fluctuation exceeds 10% or the flow rate decreases, immediately shut down the machine for inspection and cleaning.
3. Cleaning Methods
Physical Cleaning: Use a high-pressure water jet (0.5-1.0 MPa) to flush the cyclone tube and grit nozzle.
Chemical Cleaning: Stubborn lumps can be soaked in a food-grade citric acid solution.
