I. Immediate pressure control and relief
1. Immediately reduce the operating frequency of the feed pump and gradually lower the feed pressure to bring it back within the safe range of 0.3–0.8 MPa.
2. If the pressure continues to surge, briefly open the pipeline bypass valve to rapidly release excess system pressure and prevent component damage caused by pressure buildup.
3. Strictly avoid shutting down the feed pump abruptly, as material backflow could trigger a secondary pressure surge.
II. Simultaneous troubleshooting of root causes
1. Inspect feed lines and hydrocyclone chambers for material blockages; promptly clear any accumulated starch slurry clumps or impurities.
2. Check the concentration of the feed starch slurry; if it significantly exceeds the 8% safety threshold, immediately add process water to dilute the slurry and reduce flow resistance.
3. Assess the compatibility between the pump and the hydrocyclone; if excessive pump head is causing overpressure, readjust the pump speed and isolate the malfunctioning hydrocyclone unit.
III. Subsequent recovery and verification
1. Once the pressure returns to the normal range, observe the underflow discharge to confirm it has resumed the characteristic umbrella-shaped spray pattern with a 10°–20° angle.
2. Inspect equipment seals and pipeline connections for leaks or deformation; after confirming there is no component damage, gradually restore normal production parameters.
3. Document the cause of the overpressure incident and the remedial actions taken; subsequently optimize the feed pretreatment process to prevent recurrence of similar issues.
